The Evolution of Technology
AI 2.0 investment is coming up. What does that mean? Well, there’s always a 1.0 of any technology and then a 2.0, possibly a 3.0, and so on. A biggest example of this is the web. There was Web 1.0, a very long time ago, when it just created servers next to each other and an intranet of some sort. It wasn’t really that big. Then Web 2.0 started with the creation of Facebook, Google, and all those companies. Then there’s Web 3.0. Web 3.0 indicates the use of blockchain and all those new technologies in the world.
AI 1.0: The Beginning
AI already started with 1.0 a long time ago. It’s not a new technology. It started a very long time ago, when they started to create with IBM’s supercomputer players for chess that would beat the world champions and so on. For that reason, AI 1.0 is done, and now it’s time for AI 2.0. A lot of people are wondering how to have an AI 2.0 investment that is proper.
Understanding AI 2.0
What is AI 2.0?
AI 2.0 is everything that is beyond the normal chatbot, the normal building a logo with AI, and all these perks that are just cool things to see. These cool things to see actually led to more than 300,000 people being fired last year from their jobs just because ChatGPT, an AI 1.0 startup, could actually make those freely available for the world. But they are working on something that is definitely AI 2.0 because they’re one of the latest leading companies in AI. They’re working on a concept called AGI, which is artificial general intelligence. This concept is very much AI 2.0 because it’s theoretical and it doesn’t exist. And a lot of scientists argue that it cannot exist at this stage.
Examples of AI 2.0 Companies
The first company that the world is talking about is Nvidia. But Nvidia is an AI 1.0 company simply because it’s just a producer of hardware. Now, you might consider Tesla to be an advanced automotive company, but that still puts it as an automotive company. The moment it decides to build an AI that would create self-driving cars, this is where it goes to 2.0 Automotives, for example, because it’s changing the industry. Nvidia has been building microchips for a very, very long time, which keeps it as AI 1.0 unless they innovate in terms of how they can do it. They’re still going to be very rich. They’re still going to be one of the biggest AI companies in the world because they’re going to be the fuel source of AI, but they’re not going to be in the AI 2.0 movement.
Industry Comparisons
Remember, each AI, each industry has a 2.0. The biggest example we talked about before is Web 2.0 and Web 3.0, similar with search engines. If you looked at the world’s first search engine, it was a joke compared to now companies like Perplexity that are using AI in search engines or Google’s search engine alone also uses AI and the algorithms involved. So each industry has a 2.0, then a 3.0, and it continues.
The Future of AI
Does this indicate that there is definitely an AI 2.0 and an AI 3.0? The truth is nobody knows. Because if I ask you this question, are there going to be cars that fly to space? We would say that the technology doesn’t allow it at this stage. We could have flying cars. Actually, we do have flying cars at this stage. I’ve recently interviewed one of the founders of a company that does that. But flying cars are still theoretical. And even if they are practically applied, they’re still too slow to actually have any impact on the ecosystem that we have. Now, if I’m talking about a car company that goes to space, the science just doesn’t power that. There’s no proof that this could actually work out. And for that reason, we would say, no, you can’t fly a car to space.
When we say, is there an AI 3.0, we’re going to simply say, no, there isn’t an AI 3.0. Heck, there isn’t an AI 2.0 at this stage. But there probably will be as long as we’re building our technology and growing our technology as we are doing in our current day and age.
Investment in AI 2.0
Key Considerations
So let’s talk about AI 2.0 and how investment works in that area. When it comes to AI 2.0, if a person wants to invest in this matter, they would just have to monitor and ask themselves this question: Is OpenAI going to reach artificial general intelligence? Heck, if anyone is going to reach artificial general intelligence, then it has to be OpenAI due to their healthy financials and their leadership and their eagerness to do so. And if they do reach that, then this is a successful AI 2.0 investment.
Current Investment Opportunities
You can’t invest in OpenAI right now because it’s a private company, but you could invest in companies that use OpenAI or have agreements with OpenAI like Microsoft, Apple, and a lot of other companies in the world. Also, note that a very good AI 2.0 investment would result in Nvidia growing like crazy as well because whatever happens to AI 2.0, they’re going to need chips. That’s always a relative situation, like building a spaceship that relies on an energy source of batteries. Investing in batteries might not result in the same money that you could get if you invested in the spaceship, but it still will get a lot of money due to the dependency of the situation.
The world is moving fast, we’re trying to be a part of it. But we’re not forgetting that AI 2.0, 4.0, and 200.0 consist of human beings. That’s why we’re building intensify.ai (But more on that after our alpha version is ready.)
